This direct-coupled centrifugal fan is a compact, self-contained air-moving unit in which the impeller is mounted directly onto the extended shaft of the driving motor, eliminating the need for belts, pulleys, bearing pedestals, and belt tensioning mechanisms. The motor and impeller share a common baseplate, resulting in a significantly reduced footprint compared to belt-driven equivalents of similar performance. The fan housing is fabricated from heavy-gauge carbon steel sheet, with continuously welded seams and integrally formed flanges at both the inlet and outlet openings. External stiffening ribs are welded to the housing shell to prevent panel vibration and maintain dimensional stability under fluctuating static pressure conditions. The impeller is of the backward-inclined or radial-blade type, depending on the specified duty point, and is individually dynamically balanced to ISO 1940 G6.3 grade or better, ensuring smooth operation with residual unbalance forces minimized. The motor is selected to match the impeller power demand at the design operating point and is mounted on a slotted adjustable baseplate that allows precise axial and radial alignment between the motor shaft and the housing inlet cone. A close-clearance running gap is maintained between the impeller eye and the inlet bell mouth to maximize aerodynamic efficiency and prevent recirculation losses. The complete rotating assembly — impeller, motor shaft, and motor rotor — is supported by sealed deep-groove ball bearings housed within the motor end shields, which are pre-packed with lithium-based grease for extended lubrication intervals. Access to the impeller chamber is provided through a bolted or hinged side access door, sized to allow removal of the impeller without disturbing the attached ductwork. The fan casing is fitted with lifting lugs or tapped holes for overhead crane handling during installation or maintenance. Electrical termination is via a weatherproof junction box mounted on the motor frame, with cable entry via threaded conduit ports. Each completed fan assembly is subjected to a factory acceptance test that includes no-load run-in for four hours, measurement of vibration velocity and displacement at bearing housings, verification of rotational speed using a non-contact tachometer, and documentation of actual voltage, current, and power consumption against the rated nameplate values. After testing, all external surfaces are cleaned, degreased, and coated with a two-component epoxy primer and polyurethane topcoat in a standard RAL color. The fan is then crated for export shipment with all loose items — such as gaskets, fasteners, and installation manuals — packed inside the shipping container.
