The FRP 4-72 Industrial Centrifugal Fan is constructed entirely from fiberglass-reinforced plastic, replacing traditional metal components to eliminate corrosion in aggressive environments. The housing, impeller, and inlet cone are fabricated from isophthalic polyester resin reinforced with continuous E-glass filaments, achieving a tensile modulus exceeding 15 GPa while maintaining a density of approximately 1.8 g/cm³ — one-quarter that of steel. The hand lay-up and vacuum bagging process ensures void content below 0.5% by volume, verified by ultrasonic inspection. The external gel coat, stabilized with hindered amine light stabilizers, prevents UV degradation and micro-cracking under thermal cycling from -40°C to 90°C.

The impeller follows the classical 4-72 backward-curved blade profile, with blades formed to maintain chord tolerance within ±0.3 mm. Each impeller is dynamically balanced to ISO 1940 G2.5 grade. The shaft is machined from 17-4 PH stainless steel, hardened to 38 HRC, and fitted with double-lipped nitrile seals. The drive train supports both direct-coupled and V-belt configurations, with motor options spanning 0.75 kW to 132 kW at IE3 or IE4 efficiency classes, enclosed to IP55 or IP56 standards.

The volute cross-section expands linearly following the Archimedean spiral law, ensuring uniform static pressure recovery. Cutoff clearance is set at 12% of impeller tip radius to balance recirculation losses against noise. Finite element analysis confirms all natural frequencies lie outside the operating range of 600 rpm to 3600 rpm by a margin of at least 20%. The fan complies with ATEX and IECEx standards for hazardous locations and ISO 9001 quality protocols. Each unit undergoes factory testing for airflow, vibration, insulation resistance, and pressure integrity before shipment.
